PCG: Crew members of a distressed motor boat in Linapacan, Palawan were assisted to safety by elements of the Philippine Coast Guard last Saturday, February 07.
Christopher Caballero, 34, and Genevieve Caballero, 38, were onboard motor banca "Prince Jr" when it encountered engine trouble and went dead on water at approximately three nautical miles off the port of Barangay San Miguel, Linapacan, Palawan.
A certain John Christian Caballero informed the personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Linapacan of the said incident and requested for assistance.
A search and rescue operations was immediately conducted by the Coast Guard personnel and sighted the distressed motor banca at the vicinity waters off Brgy Cabunluan, Linapacan, Palawan with the two crew onboard.
The SAR team rendered necessary assistance and subsequently transferred the crew to motor banca Harold. Both were found in good physical condition.
