PCG: The Philippine Coast Guard in Camarines Norte have rescued six members of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) from a conked out sea ambulance last Saturday, April 18.
The municipal COMELEC personnel reportedly went to Canimo Island to conduct a satellite mobile registration. While on their way back to Mercedes, Camarines Norte at around 6:00 pm, their sea ambulance encountered propeller malfunction and went dead on the water.
Upon receipt of information from Jude Hernandes, OIC of MDRRMO-Mercedes, the personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Camarines Norte immediately conducted search and rescue operations at the vicinity waters of Barangay Mambungalon and towed the ill-fated sea craft back to Mercedes Fish Port.Β
The six COMELEC staff and four boat crew safely were rescued and were sent home to their respective families in good physical condition.Β
