PCG: A total of five passengers onboard a distressed motorboat in Matoco Point, Batangas City were successfully rescued by the Philippine  Coast Guard last Sunday, April 26.

The skipper of said motor banca identified as Nicasio Royo, 38 years old and resident of Abra De Ilog, Occidental Mindoro requested assistance from CGS Batangas when their motor banca encountered engine trouble.

Immediately, the CGS Batangas personnel responded to the incident and conducted search and rescue operations onboard an aluminum boat.

The team spotted the said motor banca and successfully rescued all five passengers namely Channu Jatti, 38 years old, Sunil Patravali, 59 years old, Ashok Mittal, 56 years old all Indian nationals, Nelson Carretas, 39 years old, Filipino and boat captain Nicasio Royo, 41 years old who were all in safe condition. 

Their motor banca was towed and brought safely to Sitio Ilaya, Barangay Sta Clara, Batangas City. According to the boat captain they were enroute to Batangas City from Abra de Ilog when the incident transpired.
