The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Southern Mindanao has received three wooden bancas through the signing of the deed of donation in Barangay Labangal, General Santos City on 15 March 2022.

CG Captain Rejard V Marfe, Mr. Richard T. Paparon, and two other stakeholders signed the said document.

The ceremonial signing was witnessed by CG Captain Hector R Rafin, Deputy Commander of the PCG District Southern Mindanao, and other officers and personnel of the District.

In his turnover speech, Mr. Paparon commended the men and women of the District for their significant contributions and outstanding services in Southern Mindanao. Hence, as a token of appreciation, the said donation was made.

For his part, CG Captain Marfe expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders' unwavering support to the organization toward the accomplishment of its mandates and functions.

CG Captain Marfe said the wooden bancas will be used in conducting routine maritime patrols and in enforcing maritime laws within its jurisdiction.
