More than 100 tree seedlings were planted during the TREE PLANTING INITIATIVE jointly organized by the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) 109th Squadron led by DAS Commodore Jomar Dela Peña, and OB Montessori led by Mr. Jason Sahagun at Sitio Malaking Bato, Barangay Mabatang, Abucay, Bataan yesterday, 20 March 2022.

Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM) Commander, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor N Punzalan participated in the said environmental protection initiative.

Coast Guard personnel of MEPCOM and its sub-units, including the National Operation Center for Oil Pollution (NOCOP), Marine Environmental Protection Training Center (MEPTC), and Marine Environmental Protection Force (MEPFOR) NCR-Central Luzon also joined the activity.

Moreover, the Coast Guard Station Bataan supported the said initiative dubbed as the “TRASH TO TREES” project.
