The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has received the newly constructed two-story student barracks from the U.S. Government on 19 January 2022.

It can accommodate UP TO 100 INDIVIDUALS and is equipped with a GYM AND LAUNDRY ROOM. The said project is part of the development of the COAST GUARD FLEET TRAINING CENTER OF EXCELLENCE located at Barangay Santol, Balagtas, Bulacan.

U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires, ad interim (CDA a.i.) Ms. Heather Variava graced the turn-over ceremony, together with other U.S. Embassy representatives.

“I am inspired to see the PCG pursuing its bold and vital development plan to expand its ranks and modernize its fleet to meet the full array of maritime challenges: from promoting safety and security to protecting environmental and economic interests,” Ms. Variava shared.

Presiding over the event was PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Fabricante who expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the U.S. Government for their unwavering support to the PCG’s objective of producing specialized sailors.

Also joining the ceremony was Coast Guard Fleet Commander, CG Rear Admiral Allan Victor T Dela Vega.

Before concluding the ceremony, the guests walked through the ongoing renovation of the main building which will house the FUTURE ENGINEERING AND SEAMANSHIP LABORATORIES of the Coast Guard Fleet Training Center.

The said project is fully funded by the U.S. Department of State International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs and the Global Security Contingency Fund managed by the Joint United States Military Assistance Group.
