The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has ferried 15 tons of relief goods and fuel supplies from Puerto Princesa City to Pag-asa Island in Kalayaan, Palawan yesterday, 24 January 2022.
Utilizing BRP Capones (MRRV-4404), the PCG safely transported the following supplies from the Provincial Government of Palawan and private donor, Ms. Princess Columna intended for the recovering families in the island and PCG personnel deployed at the Coast Guard Station Kalayaan:
- 10 drums of aviation gas
- 4 containers of gasoline
- 3 tanks of 11-kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)
- 700 boxes of purified drinking water
- 56 boxes assorted food packs
- 10 boxes of assorted fruits
- 2 trays of fresh eggs
- 1 box of condiments
PCG personnel also transported a bicycle, one piece of PVC door, one set of toilet bowl, cable wires, steel bars, paints, and insulation foams.
Four residents were also welcomed on board the said Coast Guard vessel for a free ride from Puerto Princesa City to Pag-asa Island.
The Medical Unit, Maritime Safety Services Unit, Special Operations Unit, and Public Affairs Unit of the PCG District Palawan also participated in the said relief transport mission.
