The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has deployed BRP Suluan (MRRV-4406) and BRP Cape San Agustin (MRRV-4408) to ferry 19 tons of drinking water to Dinagat Islands donated by the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) 201st and 218th Squadrons in Central Visayas.

This initiative intended to address the diarrhea outbreak in Dinagat Islands due to the lack of clean drinking water.

BRP Suluan (MRRV-4406) transported the said donations from Cebu City to Surigao City, while BRP Cape San Agustin (MRRV-4408) ferried the supplies from Surigao City to Dinagat Islands.

Moreover, personnel of the PCG District Northeastern Mindanao and PCG District BARMM distributed the boxes of purified drinking water to the most affected barangays in the province.
