On 01 February 2022, a total of 52 Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel under the Task Unit Balik Probinsya – Flights (TUBPF) were deployed at NAIA Terminal 2 in Pasay City to assist the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in managing 2,879 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) for their domestic flights to Visayas and Mindanao.

With the implementation of IATF Resolution 159 which took effect yesterday, 01 February 2022, fully-vaccinated and qualified OFWs were released by the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) from their quarantine hotel facilities in NCR in time for the sweeper flights arranged by OWWA.

Secretary of Transportation ATTY. ARTHUR P TUGADE has always reiterated to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) through its Commandant, CG ADMIRAL LEOPOLDO V LAROYA, to extend full support to partner agencies involved in the management of returning OFWs.

Prior to the effectivity of IATF Resolution 159, a coordination meeting was held amongst the OWWA, BOQ, Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), and the PCG’s Task Force Bayanihan for Returning Overseas Filipinos (TFB-ROF) to ensure the efficient management of all OFWs who will avail of the HATID PROBINSYA PROGRAM of the national government.

The aid meeting was presided over by OWWA ADMINISTRATOR ATTY. HANS LEO J CACDAC. The DOTr-One-Stop-Shop for the Management of Returning Overseas Filipinos (OSS-MROF) Head, UNDERSECRETARY RAUL L DEL ROSARIO likewise committed full support to the said endeavor.

The TUBPF, led by CG LTJG LINSON OLIVER P DEMORIN, is directly under the TFB-ROF’s Task Group Airport One-Stop-Shop (TGAOSS) headed by CG CAPT ELEIZER G IBARRIENTOS.
