The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Bicol welcomed 25 newly appointed members of the Coastal Community Auxiliary Division in Virac, Catanduanes on 04 February 2022.

District Commander, CG Commodore Giovanni G Bergantin presided over the induction and oath-taking ceremony of the said volunteers who composed the 905th Auxiliary Squadron under the Coastal Community Auxiliary Division of the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) District Bicol.

During his speech, CG Commo Bergantin expressed his gratitude to the new PCGA members for taking part in promoting the safety of lives and properties at sea, as well as in conducting disaster response operations.

“Ang pagiging PCGA ay napakalaking responsibilidad na kailangan ninyong gampanan at kaakibat nito ay ang inyong taus-pusong partisipasyon. Sama-sama nating protektahan ang ating ipinagmamalaking mga yamang-dagat dahil simula ngayon, kayo ang magsisilbing ehemplo sa inyong komunidad," CG Commodore Bergantin said.

“Naririto ako sa inyong harapan upang magpasalamat sa inyong ibinigay na suporta sa PCG. Magtulungan tayo! Magkaisa tayo sapagkat iisa ang ating layunin at iyon ay ang pangalagaan ang ating karagatan,” he furthered.
