DOTC-PCG: The cadaver of a 15 year-old boy was recovered last Sunday by the elements of the Philippine Coast Guard in Pangasinan a day after he was reported missing by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management (MDRRMC) in San Fabian.

The victim, John Patrick M. Romeo, was reportedly swimming with his cousins Jobeth R. Layno and Edison Purtugis, when he suddenly lost grip from an improvised life ring and drowned by the big waves.

On the same day around 11:45AM, Robert Lomandas, a member od MDRRC-San Fabian, reported the incident to Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) San Fabian and requested assistance to search for the victim in Barangay Nibaliw West.

Immediately, elements of CGSS San Fabian, together with MDRRMC, conducted surface search at the drowning site around 12NN. On March 16, the team continued its search and retrieval operations to the victim.

The cadaver was retrieved around 6:15AM 20 meters away from the beaching area of Brgy. Magliba, San Fabian, Pangasinan. The cadaver was turned-over to PNP San Fabian for evaluation and proper disposition
