PCG: The Philippine Coast Guard represented by Commodore Joseph Badajos PCG, Commander of Coast Guard District Western Visayas participated the Capability Demonstration Exercise of Metro Boracay Police Task Force and Joint Task Force Boracay this morning, April 25.

The exercise demonstrated different scenarios such as Implementation of I.D system and No swimming Policy, Protest Rally/Bombing scenario, Maritime Interdiction scenario, and Hostage Taking scenario.

BRP Cabra (Multi-Role Response Vessel 4409) and BRP Davao del Norte (Search and Rescue Vessel 3504) acted as the blocking forces for maritime security. PCG also deployed one rubber boat, one aluminum boat, and one Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) as part of the law enforcement and rescue operations during the exercise.

The Capability Demonstration Exercise was conducted to showcase the readiness of the task forces in the Boracay Island during its 6-month rehabilitation process.

The exercise was attended by Officers and Directors from different branches of service: PDDG Fernando Mendez Jr, Deputy Chief of PNP for Operations; PCSUPT Mao R Aplasca, Director Directorate for Operations; PDIR Roland B Felix, Director Integrated Police Operations; BGEN Dino H Dolina AFP, Commander 3rd Infantry Division; PCSUPT Cesar Hawthorne Binag, Regional Director Region 6; PSUPT Rodelio B Jocson, Director PNP Maritime Group; ASEC Manuel Felix and USEC Martin DiΓ±o of DILG; Mr Nieven Maquirang, Administrator Jetty Port; RADM Leonard Tirol PCGA, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary Boracay Adviser; and COL Alfred Limoso, Regional Director National Intelligence Coordinating Agency 6.
