The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Northern Mindanao has planted a total of 2,000 mangrove propagules in Barangay Sinuloc, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental on 11 April 2021.

Local government officials committed to regularly check the status of the mangrove propagules to ensure their successful growth.

In cooperation with the PCG Auxiliary 1001st Squadron, PCG Station Western Misamis Oriental, and the LGU, said activity is one of the regular initiatives of the PCG to protect El Salvador City against storm surges and promote a healthy marine environment.
