The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Surigao del Norte has released the following updates regarding the ongoing search and rescue (SAR) operations to locate the missing crewmembers of LCT Cebu Great Ocean in the waters of Surigao del Norte as of 1PM today, 21 April 2021.
SURVIVORS:
1. Noli Labucay – found at Brgy. Cayawan, Malimono; currently at the Malimono Regional Health Unit (RHU)
2. Roger Polo (Chief Mate) – found at Brgy. Balite, San Francisco; currently at the Caraga Regional Hospital
3. Arjie Bacarra – found at Brgy. Balite, San Franciso; currently at the Caraga Regional Hospital
4. Joejie Villanueva – found at Brgy. Balite, San Franciso; currently at the Caraga Regional Hospital
5. Felipe Quebuen – currently at the Caraga Regional Hospital brought by an unidentified person
6. John Renzo Guanzon – brought to PNP Malimono by a resident of Malimono; currently at the Malimono RHU
7. Junmar Galeos – found at Brgy. Jubgan, San Francisco; currently at the Malimono RHU
CASUALTIES:
1. Norman Galon – found along the shoreline of Brgy. Balite, San Franciso; currently at the Nilo Funeral Services
2. Michael Inoc – found along the shoreline of Brgy. Jubgan, San Francisco; currently at the Aldonza Funeral Services
3. Jose Sherwin Laniba – found along the shoreline of Brgy. Jubgan, San Francisco; currently at the Aldonza Funeral Services
4. Mark Evan Cuesta – found along the shoreline of Brgy. Mabua, Surigao City; currently at the Aldonza Funeral Services
The PCG and PNP – MARIG continue their search and rescue (SAR) operations to look for other missing crewmembers. The PCG also deployed a land mobility vehicle that conducts patrol operations along the shorelines of Malimono and San Francisco.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Surigao del Norte deployed drone, while the shipowner of LCT CEBU GREAT OCEAN deployed a private plane to conduct aerial survey at vicinity waters of Malimono and San Francisco to augment the ongoing SAR operations.
Meanwhile, several PCG personnel continue to provide assistance to the survivors at the Malimono RHU and the Caraga Regional Hospital for their speedy recovery. They are also on standby for the swift admission and provision of medical care to other survivors who will be rescued.
PCG personnel are also deployed at mentioned funeral services to monitor possible arrival of new casualties relative to the incident.
