Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District North Eastern Mindanao Commander, Commodore Luisito Sibayan announced that discussions are underway for the construction of the PCG regional office and training facility in the Caraga region, specifically in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

Mrs. Flordelina Lopez, mother of a former Coast Guard officer, Lieutenant Ide Lopez Jr, has committed to donate a 500-square meter private land located at Barangay Tiniwisan to support the expansion of Coast Guard's infrastructure in North Eastern Mindanao.

The construction will commence right after the formal signing of the deed of donation that is scheduled in the second quarter of 2021.

Commodore Sibayan underscored the realization of said infrastructure projects will enable the PCG District North Eastern Mindanao to improve the delivery of public service and enforcement of maritime laws in the Philippine waters.
