Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Aklan rescued three local fishermen of a distressed motorbanca at the vicinity waters off Buruanga, Boracay Island and Caluya Island, Antique at around 04:00 a.m. today, 07 May 2021.

Said fishing boat departed Barangay Yapak, Boracay Island enroute to Sitio Diniwid, Boracay Island to conduct fishing venture.

On its way back to Baragay Yapak, it encounter engine trouble (battery discharge), causing it to adrift.

The PCG Station Aklan immediately deployed search and rescue (SAR) team after receiving a distress call.

The three passengers were declared in good physical condition, while their motorbanca was towed to the nearest shoreline for needed repair.
