While conducting maritime patrol, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) apprehended a fishing vessel with 20 fishermen on board who were illegally fishing at approximately 5.9 miles northwest off Barangay Lubid Island, Cuyo, Palawan on 05 May 2021.

During boarding inspection, the vessel was identified as FB NATHAN owned and operated by YYN Fishing Corporation in Jaro, Iloilo City.

The fishermen were informed that they violated Municipal Ordinance No. 2016 – 1564 and Municipal Ordinance No. 2015 – 1520 for operating within the municipal waters of Cuyo without appropriate permits and for fishing within 10 kilometers from the shoreline of said municipality.

YYN Fishing Corporation paid the amount of ₱100,000 to the municipal treasurer of Cuyo, Palawan for the release of the apprehended fishing vessel and its 20 fishermen.
