The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Northern Mindanao has launched series of training for PCG personnel, specifically on water search and rescue (WASAR) and explosive ordnance reconnaissance yesterday, 28 June 2021.
A total of 40 students were convened to undergo WASAR training, in preparation for their deployment to PCG stations or sub-stations under the PCG District Northern Mindanao. They will also undertake lectures on district familiarization.
Meanwhile, the Regional Training Center (RTC) Laguindingan and Special Operations Group β Northern Mindanao commenced the Explosive Ordnance Reconnaissance Agent (EORA) training with 315 students. They will undergo simulation exercises on detection, investigation, location, verification, marking, identification, and reporting of unexploded ordinance, as well as initial evacuation.
Commander of PCG District Northern Mindanao, Commodore Agapito Bibat urged the students to make the most out of the learning opportunities given to them so they could better perform their tasks towards the fulfillment of the Coast Guard's mandated functions.
"Education is a never-ending process. Regardless of how long you have been in the service, it is an ever- evolving process,β Commodore Bibat stated.
More importantly, the PCG District Northern Mindanao Commander reminded them to be humble and be good role models, not only to their subordinates, but also to the people they serve.
