The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has officially enlisted 200 SKILLED DRIVERS AND MECHANICS as the Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Course (CGNOC) Class 84 - 2020 “Tatag-Sandigan” formally graduated at the PCG Base Farola, Binondo, Manila yesterday, 05 August 2021.
The CGNOC Class 84 - 2020 “Tatag-Sandigan” was the FIRST CLASS organized and dedicated for skilled drivers and mechanics who envisioned to join the Coast Guard service.
Out of 200 drivers, 20 of them have strong background in welding, while 18 of them have specialized skills in repairing and maintaining automobiles.
The class was personally welcomed and congratulated by Deputy Commandant for Operations, Vice Admiral Leopoldo V Laroya after successfully finishing the SEVEN-MONTH RIGID TRAINING at the PCG Training Center in Taguig.
In his speech, Vice Admiral Laroya encouraged the newly-enlisted PCG personnel to continue to STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE and BE COMMITTED TO PUBLIC SERVICE as they stand proud, ready to take on the greater responsibilities as Coast Guardians.
“As the first class of specialized skilled drivers and mechanics, it is your job to make sure that all mobility assets of the PCG are at optimal and best working conditions. We decided to enlist skilled drivers and mechanics because we know that it is your passion. It is your responsibility to make sure that your passengers will arrive to their destination safe and sound,” Vice Admiral Laroya emphasized.
As of today, 06 August 2021, the newly-enlisted PCG personnel are waiting for their formal deployment to augment various Coast Guard units.
