The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted the SIMULTANEOUS OATH TAKING CEREMONY of more than 2,000 NEWLY-APPOINTED PCG applicants for commissionship (officers) and enlistment (non-officers) today, 03 September 2021.

Gracing the event was Department of Transportation - Philippines (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade who urged the men and women of the PCG to pursue further developments of the MODERN COAST GUARD.

It also coincided with the JOINT DONNING AND OATH-TAKING CEREMONIES of 124 NEWLY-PROMOTED commissioned officers with the ranks of Captain (20), Commander (24), Lieutenant Commander (44), Lieutenant Junior Grade (36), as well as 81 NEWLY-COMMISSIONED officers with the ranks of Lieutenant (24) and Ensign (57).

A total of 498 enlisted personnel with the rank of Petty Officer Second Class (PO2) were also promoted to the next higher rank of Petty Officer First Class (PO1).

Meanwhile, 528 enlisted personnel with the rank of Seaman / Seawoman First Class (SN1 / SW1) were promoted to the next higher rank of Petty Officer Third Class (PO3).

Eight PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) members also took their oath to serve the PCG by offering their time, effort, and resources in the performance of its humanitarian missions and marine environmental protection initiatives.

Minimum health standards were strictly observed during the activity, such as the mandatory wearing of face masks and face shields, observance of physical distancing, and utilization of virtual conference.
