The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued 12 passengers, including 8 minors, of a distressed motorbanca at the vicinity waters 15 nautical miles off San Remegio, Cebu yesterday, 09 September 2021.

While underway from Bantayan Island en route to Barangay Hagnaya in San Remigio, the said motorbanca encountered engine trouble.

Immediately, the PCG team dispatched a floating asset to conduct search and rescue operations.

All passengers were transferred to the PCG aluminum boat and provided with life vests, while a rented motorbanca towed the distressed boat to the Hagnaya Fish Port in San Remigio.
