The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Cavite apprehended a motorbanca conducting ACTUAL TRAWL FISHING at the vicinity waters off Ternate, Cavite yesterday, 16 September 2021.

The PCG conducted proper boarding procedures and upon inspection, the said motorbanca was found to be registered as ‘Ate Janna’ but marked as ‘Heneral Luna’ on its bow.

The 45-year-old skipper, Mr. Rafilo Biha y Mina, a resident of Barangay Amaya 7, Tanza, Cavite was accompanied by eight crew members.

The apprehended motorbanca was impounded by the PCG for violating the following municipal ordinances: Municipal Ordinance No. 2 series of 2011 Sec. 51 "Fishing without a license and permit”; Municipal Ordinance No. 2 series of 2011 Sec. 52 "Commercial fishing in municipal waters"; Municipal Ordinance No. 2 series of 2011 Sec. 57 "Use of active gear in municipal waters and other fishery management areas”; and Municipal Ordinance No. 2 series of 2011 Sec. 65 "Other prohibitions and penalties".

Meanwhile, the crew members were turned over to the Municipal Office of Ternate for the filing of administrative charges.
