The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Philippine National Police (PNP) have apprehended RANDY MENDIETA, one of the cohorts identified by Mark Montilla or the suspected leader of the MONTILLA CRIMINAL GROUP at around 03:00 p.m. today, 29 September 2021.

The Montilla Criminal Group is known for its modus operandi on THEFT AND SEA ROBBERY against anchored vessels at the Manila Bay Anchorage Area.

Mendieta was captured at Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila. The PCG and PNP recovered several pails of marine paint from the suspect that were believed to be stolen from foreign vessels anchored in Manila Bay.

On 27 September 2021, Montilla was arrested and during the initial investigation, he revealed that various stolen items from victim vessels are being kept and stowed by their cohorts identified as RANDY and RUEL.

Follow-up operations against other members of the Montilla Criminal Group are ongoing.
