Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Vice Admiral Leopoldo V Laroya has directed PCG units to be on heightened alert, specifically in Northeastern Luzon, Southern Tagalog, Bicol region, Caraga region, Palawan, and Visayas as Tropical Depression #LanniePH continues to cause heavy rains in various parts of the country.
Deployable response groups (DRGs) and quick response teams (QRTs) have been activated to provide necessary assistance in the conduct of evacuation and rescue operations, most especially in flood-prone residential communities.
Furthermore, PCG personnel continue to remind fishermen and coastal residents to avoid venturing into the sea during inclement weather conditions for their safety.
The PCG actively works with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (PDRRMCs) to ensure the safety of lives amid the natural calamity.
Meanwhile, the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) has been instructed to prepare for relief operations in areas that will be most affected by the tropical depression.Β
