The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Maritime Safety Services Command (MSSC) celebrated its 47th founding anniversary in Sangley Point, Cavite City on 06 October 2021.

During the event, MSSC Commander, CG Vice Admiral Artemio M Abu recognized following outstanding personnel for their commendable services in upholding maritime safety:

1) Port State Control of the Year: CG CDR Michael B Andag

2) Maritime Safety Services Unit of the Year: CG LCDR Lalaine M Ginete

3) Lighthouse Station Photo of the Year: CG LTJG Von Gerard B Velez

4) MSSC Non-Officer of the Year: CG PO2 Levelyn R Villacampa

5) Lighthouse Keeper of the Year: LK1 Samuel A Crespo

Gracing the celebration was PCG Commandant, CG Vice Admiral Leopoldo V Laroya who commended the men and women of the PCG who ensure lighthouse efficiency. He also recognized their efforts in transforming historical lighthouses into tourist destinations.

Port State Control personnel were also applauded for maintaining the seaworthiness of foreign ships entering the Philippine waters.

Also present during the 47th founding anniversary celebration of MSSC were PCG officers, PCG Auxiliary members, Philippine Navy and Philippine Air Force officers, as well as local officials.
