The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has received another batch of personnel protective equipment (PPE) and ICT donations from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Philippines at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila today, 26 October 2021.

IOM is a part of the United Nations (UN) system that serves as the leading inter-governmental organization in providing services and advice to governments and migrants, including internally displaced persons, refugees, and migrant workers.Β 

IOM utilizes a multi-sectorial "Prepare, Prevent, Protect" approach in mitigating the negative impact of COVID-19 on Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs), as well as vulnerable and displaced communities.

The donations were formally received by PCG Commandant, CG Vice Admiral Leopoldo V Laroya and Task Force Bayanihan Returning Overseas Filipinos (TF BROF) Commander, CG Rear Admiral Rolando Lizor N Punzalan Jr.

The donations were composed of 45 units of laptop; 45 units of 3-in-1 printer; 392 gallons of alcohol; 1,080 pieces of KN95 mask; 14,996 pieces of disposable face shield; 766 pieces of reusable face shield; 23,458 pieces of surgical gloves; 3,681 packs of surgical cap; and 4,650 pairs of shoe covers.

To better serve the public, most especially ROFs amid the global pandemic, the said donations will be utilized by the TFBROF and cognizant agencies working together at one-stop-shops.
