The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has rescued two individuals onboard a distressed motorbanca between the vicinity waters off Romblon and Masbate today, 06 November 2021.
The rescued individuals were identified as 43-year-old Jovy Dilao and 20-year-old Junrey Capinig. According to them, they departed Pugawan, San Andres, Quezon and encountered engine trouble while underway to San Pascual, Burias, Masbate.
The PCG and Bantay Dagat conducted search and rescue (SAR) operations and spotted the distressed motorbanca between the vicinity waters off Cajidiocan, Romblon and Mandaon, Masbate.
After confirming that Dilao and Capinig were in good physical condition, the joint SAR team towed the distressed motorbanca towards the shoreline of Cajidiocan.
The PCG provided an engine mechanic to fix the engine of the distressed motorbanca and advised the rescued individuals to venture into the sea to reach their destination as soon as the weather permits.
