The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is set to establish an Aviation Rescue Swimmer Training Facility and a PCG Regional Training Center in Dipaculao, Aurora, following the signing of the deed of donation between the PCG and the Municipal Government of Dipaculao yesterday, 22 November 2021.
PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Eduardo D Fabricante and Dipaculao Mayor Danilo A. Tolentino formally signed the agreement for the PCG's utilization of a 20,000-square-meter lot located at Barangay Mijares for the implementation of the said PCG infrastructure projects anchored on its modernization program.
Once fully operational, the CGAF Aviation Rescue Swimmer Training Facility will support the capability enhancement programs of the Command to ensure that its officer and personnel remain effective in performing maritime search and rescue.
The Regional Training Center, on the other hand, will provide opportunities for qualified and competent residents of Aurora to become part of the third armed service of the Philippines.
During his speech, Mayor Tolentino expressed his high hopes for the speedy and successful construction of the said PCG infrastructure projects that will support economic stability in the municipality through the creation of jobs for the locals.
For his part, CG Vice Admiral Fabricante extended his gratitude and appreciation to the Municipal Government of Dipaculao for supporting the PCG in the performance of its mandated functions.
