The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Sub-Station Maasim has rescued two fishermen at the vicinity waters off Maasim, Sarangani Province yesterday, 09 April 2022.

Jun Jun Turno and Jorge Turno, residents of Barangay Kablacan in Maasim, Sarangani Province, narrated that they swam towards their motorbanca that was moored 350 to 360 meters from the shoreline to secure it at the nearest shore.

However, their motorbanca flipped due to rough sea condition at around 02:00 p.m.

Purok Chairman Antonio Siarot of Sitio Danggan, Barangay Kabition in Maasim saw them asking for help and immediately proceeded to the PCG Sub-Station Maasim for assistance.

The fishermen were rescued at around 04:20 p.m.

After inquiry and confirming that they were in good physical condition, they were turned over to Purok Chairman Siarot.

He reminded the fishermen to prioritize their safety by not venturing into the sea during bad weather and/or rough sea condition.
