While inspecting outbound packages at the Zamboanga International Airport, one of the working dogs of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) K9 Team Zamboanga named “Bunny” showed positive indication on a certain package at around 12:50 p.m. today, 05 July 2022.
Upon opening the package, the PCG K9 Team Zamboanga and other airport authorities found 14 sachets (five grams each) containing white crystalline substances suspected as methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu.
The estimated market value for the said package was Php 210,000.
Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) took over the said incident for further investigation.
PCG K9 Teams support authorities in maintaining peace, security, and orderliness in various airports across the country based on the directive of former Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade.
