The men and women of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) mourn with the entire nation the passing of former President Fidel Valdez Ramos yesterday, 31 July 2022.

According to PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, it was during the Ramos administration in 1998 when the PCG transferred from the Department of National Defense (DND)to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

"We express our sincere condolences to the bereaved family of former President Ramos. He was a leader who exemplified patriotism and served fellow Filipinos with utmost selflessness. The lessons we learned under his guidance will forever inspire us to make the PCG a symbol of hope and pride of our great nation," the Coast Guard Commandant said.

"Mr. President, Sir, rest in peace. We will continue to pursue the path of public service you trailblazed," he ended.
