The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) assisted three fishermen after their motorbanca capsized in the vicinity waters off San Nicholas Shoal in Cavite on 23 August 2022.

The rescued persons were identified as Joel Dela Cruz Dimano Jr (45 years old), Alexander Bababel (44 years old), and Joshua Morallos (22 years old), all residents of Mariveles, Bataan.

The PCG Station Manila received a report from PCG District NCR-Central Luzon informing that three fishermen were rescued by a passing cargo vessel, MV Ever Pride.

Immediately, BRP Malabrigo (MRRV-4402) proceeded to the reported location.

Upon arrival, the PCG Medical Service examined the survivors who were all in good condition.

Initial inquiry revealed that their boat encountered engine trouble. The situation was worsened by strong winds and rough seas which caused their motorbanca to capsize.

The survivors were ferried to Cunanan Wharf in Manila for further assistance. They were properly turned over to Mrs. Percy Frianela, owner of the said boat.
