The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)'s BRP Malamawi (FPB-2403) responded to a distressed vessel which encountered engine trouble in the vicinity waters between Cordova, Cebu and Cabul-an Island, Buenavista, Bohol, yesterday, 09 September 2022.

MV VG RORO II sent a distress call to the PCG as they encountered engine trouble and was dead on the water.

BRP Malamawi (FPB-2403) rescued and ferried 36 passengers, including two children and one six-month old infant, to Pier 3, Cebu City.

Meanwhile, two cargo motorbancas towed MV VG RORO II to Talibon Port in Bohol for damage assessment and repair.
