The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Sub-Station Rio Tuba responded to a maritime incident involving half-submerged fishing banca "Omar" at the vicinity waters off Sitio Tagdalungon, Barangay Rio Tuba, Bataraza, Palawan, on 17 September 2022.

The two fishermen were identified as 50-year-old Marsan Bedro and 25-year-old Amsari Tiddok, residents of Barangay Sarong, Bataraza.

The Coral Bay Nickel Corporation (CBNC) vessel rescued them after being battered by strong winds and big waves.

The PCG team ferried the rescued individuals and towed their fishing banca to the shoreline of Sitio Marabahay, Barangay Rio Tuba for needed repairs.
