The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Bicol assisted six Indonesian crew members of cargo vessel, M/V Sky Fortune that ran aground in the vicinity waters off Malinao (Tabaco Bay) on 19 January 2022.
They were turned over to the Indonesian Embassy today, 28 September 2022.
Through the collaborative efforts PCG, BI, OWWA, BOC, BOQ, DOH, NBI, PNP, Tabaco City Prosecutors' Office, LGU-Tabaco and the provincial government of Albay, coordinating meeting was set with the officials of the Indonesian Embassy to expedite their repatriation.
Six Indonesian crew members, including the master of the vessel, were turned over in good physical condition to the officials of the Indonesian Embassy headed by Mr. Reinaldo Lolong, First Secretary of Consular Affairs, together with Colonel Wahyu Akhadi, Military/Army AttachΓ©, and Consular Staff, Ms. Martha Purba.
They will depart this afternoon and will be repatriated to Indonesia tomorrow, 29 September 2022.
Meanwhile, M/V Sky Fortune is still detained while settling concerns with the consignee of the cargoes onboard. The remaining Filipino and Burmese crew members are also in good physical condition.
