Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista gave his snappy salute at the arrival ceremony of the Norwegian tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl at Pier 15, Port Area, Manila, yesterday, 12 October 2022.

The 108-year-old tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl is part of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, sailing as a global ambassador to promote the crucial role of the ocean for sustainable development from a global perspective.

“This 98- meter-long, 15-hundred-ton training ship is the kind of international standard of basic training that our marine cadets should experience before boarding large commercial vessels,” DOTr Secretary Bautista emphasized.
