The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responded to a maritime incident involving motorbanca "Rocenz 3" that submerged in the vicinity waters off Barangay Poblacion, Rapu-Rapu, Albay at around 06:45 a.m. today, 14 October 2022.

It was carrying 15 passengers and one crew when the accident occurred.

The PCG Sub-Station Rapu-Rapu received a phone call from MV RLMC Ferry I regarding the said incident and immediately proceeded to investigate and provide necessary assistance.

The boat captain, Mr. Rogelio Barcelona Jr., shared that while traversing from Barangay Batan to Poblacion at around 06:30 a.m., they experienced engine trouble and encountered big waves, causing their motorbanca to submerge.

The passengers and crew were in good condition and were transported back to Barangay Batan. MV RLMC Ferry I also towed the distressed motorbanca to the said barangay.
