The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) responded to a maritime incident involving a Panama-flagged fishing vessel, F/V KUNIMATSU 3 that ran aground in the vicinity waters off Manila Bay yesterday, 29 October 2022.

The PCG team safely rescued the five crew members onboard who were all in good physical condition.

According to the rescued individuals, they were anchored at the Manila Bay Anchorage Area when the maritime incident occurred. Their last port of call was in China.

They were dragged by strong winds and big waves due to #PaengPH that caused their fishing vessel to list, taking in water, then eventually ran aground.

The PCG is now coordinating with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for further assistance for the rescued Ecuadorians.
