The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) assisted in rescuing five crew members of an aground sea barge, “Maria Elise” in the vicinity waters off Barangay Malugao, Paluan, Occidental Mindoro, yesterday, 30 October 2022.

Sea barge, “Maria Elise” with motor tugboat, "Junn Yeu,” while en route from Semirara, Antique bound for Calaca, Batangas, decided to take shelter due to the #PaengPH.

The sea barge took sheltering in the vicinity waters off Barangay Malugao, while the motor tugboat took sheltering in the vicinity waters off Pamutusin, Paluan, Occidental Mindoro.

The sea barge drifted to the shallow waters due to strong waves, which caused it to run aground.
