The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) seized Php 13.5 million worth of smuggled cigarettes at PMI Wharf, Baliwasan Seaside, Zamboanga City, on 07 November 2022.

The PCG Station Zamboanga received a report that smuggled cigarettes were onboard the motorbanca, SHERMINA EXPRESS, owned by Mr. Ben Taub (with a business address at Alu Duyong, Lugus, Sulu).

The PCG team proceeded to the said location to confirm the report and discovered sacks filled with smuggled cigarettes onboard the said motorbanca.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) took over the smuggled cigarettes for investigation and proper disposition.
