U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee Professional Staff Member, Ms. Katherine Bowles, paid a courtesy call on Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Deputy Commandant for Administration, CG Rear Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, on 08 November 2022.

The officials discussed the U.S.-PHL cooperation on maritime domain awareness and maritime law enforcement.

After the short meeting, they toured the National Coast Watch Center, an inter-agency mechanism for maritime security operations that monitors the country's 36,000-kilometer coastline.

Also present during the meeting were CG Rear Admiral Roy Echeverria, Commander of Maritime Security and Law Enforcement Command; CG Captain Noemie Cayabyab, Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Education and Training (CG-12); and other PCG officers and representatives from the U.S. Embassy.
