An individual was rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Philippine National Police (PNP) at the vicinity waters off Intramuros-Binondo Bridge, Pasig River today, 23 December 2022.

The rescued individual was a 47-year-old female resident of Binondo, Manila, who attempted suicide due to family problems.

While BFP and PNP personnel tried negotiating, she jumped off the river.

CG Petty Officer Second Class (PO2) Ray Eric Agad of the Coast Guard Special Operations Force (CGSOF) immediately followed to save the individual.

She was conscious and in good physical condition after the successful rescue operation.

The BFP brought her to the Philippine General Hospital for further medical assistance.
