Two fishermen onboard an unnamed motorbanca departed from Barangay San Vicente, while two other fishermen left Barangay Palnab Del Norte β€” both part of Virac, Catanduanes β€” on 23 December 2022 and failed to return home.

During the search and rescue (SAR) operations, a stranded fisherman was found along the coastline of Barangay Nagcalsot in Rapu-Rapu, Albay.

He was identified as Norman Lim, a resident of Barangay Planab, Virac, Catanduanes. The barangay officials confirmed that he was in good physical condition.

As of press time, the following fishermen are still missing:

1) Domingo Borrila Jr, 44

2) Jason Mandasoc, 39

3) Arnel Araojo, 46

The PCG will resume its SAR operations as soon as the weather permits.
