The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has responded to a maritime incident involving a motorbanca that encountered engine trouble in the vicinity waters between Carles Island and Gigantes Island in Iloilo at around 10:41AM yesterday, 21 January 2023.

MBANCA PRINCE AND MAE was carrying18 passengers when the accident occurred.

At around 01:18PM, the rescue team (composed of local residents) on board two boats successfully located and provided assistance to the passengers who were all in good physical condition.

They also towed the distressed motorbanca to Barangay Lantangan, Carles, Iloilo for needed repairs.
