The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Surigao del Norte provided medical assistance to the captain of MV Pearl Orient, who suffered a mild stroke while at Surigao City's anchorage area yesterday, 05 February 2023.

The said vessel was underway from Davao City to Batangas City.

The patient, identified as 59-year-old Virgelio Palado (a resident of Bulacan), received initial medical assistance for his respiratory situation recovery.

Then, the PCG team brought him to the nearest hospital for thorough medical attention.
