The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) confiscated five balikbayan boxes containing UNDECLARED CIGARETTES AMOUNTING TO MORE THAN ONE MILLION PESOS on board MV FILIPINAS at Pier 1, Cebu City, on 08 February 2023.

Based on the cargo manifest issued by Cokaliong Shipping Lines, the balikbayan boxes en route to Cagayan de Oro contained EGGPLANTS.

During the inventory, the authorities recovered 10,280 PACKS OF UNDECLARED CIGARETTES with a market value of Php 1,028,000.

The PCG Station Central Cebu turned over the confiscated items to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for further investigation and proper disposition.
