The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) assisted in seizing undeclared and misdeclared agricultural products during a spot check inspection in Tondo, Manila, yesterday, 23 February 2023.

According to the PCG Task Force Bantay ng Bumabangon na Magsasaka, the joint law enforcement team discovered sacks of red and white onions inside five containers instead of pizza dough and fishball, as declared on its documents.

The team recommended the issuance of a Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) for the said cargoes for violating the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

Aside from the PCG, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS)-Bureau of Customs, Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF), and Bureau of Plant Industry-Department of Agriculture (BPI-DA) participated in the said law enforcement operation.
