The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Basilan participated in the CRISIS MANAGEMENT SIMULATION EXERCISE initiated by the Lamitan City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council at Brgy. Kulaybato, Lamitan City, Basilan.

During the exercise, law enforcement operatives performed counter-hostile take-over of establishments and clearing of a passenger ship.

The Coast Guard Special Operations Group-Team Lamitan, led by CG Petty Officer First Class (PO1) Gilbert Ducoy, secured the bridge deck.

Meanwhile, the Coast Guard K9 Team Lamitan, led by CG PO1 Ernesto Delgado, assisted in neutralizing explosives and clearing the ship.

The exercise allowed concerned agencies to formulate plans and prepare for crisis scenarios by implementing a whole-of-government approach.
