The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) deploys BRP Malamawi (FPB-2403) to respond to a maritime incident involving MV STARLITE SATURN in the vicinity waters off Danajon Bank, Calituban, Talibon, Bohol, at around 08:56PM yesterday, 28 February 2023.

The vessel departed from Surigao Port en route to Pier 5, Cebu City, with 87 PASSENGERS, 54 CREW MEMBERS, TWO PCG SEA MARSHALS, AND 12 ROLLING CARGOES on board.

At around 09:41PM, the PCG Command Center established communication with one of the PCG sea marshals on board, CG Seaman First Class (SN1) Cliftun Bert Etulle.

CG SN1 Etulle confirmed all passengers and crew members remain in good physical condition.

He also shared that MV STARLITE SATURN ran aground at around 04:15PM with no sightings of oil spillage in the vicinity waters.
