The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has received nine Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) from Standard Insurance Chairman, Auxiliary Rear Admiral Ernesto Echauz of the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA), at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, today, 07 March 2023.
The assets included five units of single-engine RHIB, costing β±4 MILLION EACH. Two of these units will use to augment the assets of the Coast Guard Sub-Station CCP-Manila and Coast Guard Sub-Station Olongapo.
The Command has yet to identify three other sub-stations that will receive the remaining single-engine RHIBs.
Meanwhile, the four twin-engine RHIBs amounting to β±6 MILLION EACH will be delivered to Coast Guard Districts in Southeastern Mindanao, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Southern Tagalog.
PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, expressed his utmost gratitude to the Standard Insurance and PCGA for their unrelenting support to the Coast Guard in performing maritime search and rescue, maritime incident response, humanitarian assistance, and disaster response operations.
PCGA National Director, Auxiliary Vice Admiral Manuel Luis Idquival joined CG Admiral Abu and Auxiliary Rear Admiral Echauz in signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and deed of usufruct, and blessing of the nine RHIBs.
